Saw this on ebay and couldn't resist the temptation.

The listing states the rod brakes and three speed gears still work and is rideable, so can't all be bad, will have to see what it is like after a clean up.

Then hide is in the back of the shed, so it doesn't get noticed!

Looks like it has been painted at some point looking at the head badge, we'll see when I collect it tomorrow evening.

For 20 sheets I reckon you've snagged a bargain. Looks like it could clean up rather nicely with a bit of elbow grease and some replacements which shouldn't break the bank.

Just collected it brakes work, gears work and tyres hold air, lets see how it cleans up.

ok, first thing I started on was the head badge and it turns out it is a Hercules.

The head badge reads 'The Hercules cycle and motor co - Britannia works birmingham' with the following number stamp on the frame XB 514. Anyone know where I can look to find the age on this one?

Right next find the hub is a sturmey archer aw with a dull finish, not like the shiny ones with the lines and there is no date stamp?

That hub looks similar to this one taken off a humber. Could only date my humber between 36 and 52 from head badge.
