Just back from Europe... what's been happening?

Just back from Europe, well Interlaken, Switzerlandland for a bit of walkies, no bikies (sob) and some very cold lake swimming. Fab time! BUT, absolutely no news or outside worldly contact at all (which was kinda nice).

So, I'm in need of a quick update of news/headlines from the last 2 weeks, global and parochial from the (t)wits annd the wordly-wise of CC Cafe!

btw, feels good to be back 'home' with lots to catch-up on!

Oh, I am resident in the UK... but Europe's that bit over the water (OK, In my haste I forgot the "mainland" bit in the title, maybe it's some kind of freudian slip?) The thing is, when over the channel you feel like you're in Europe, over here I kinda don't. I say this as somebody who regularly travels over the water on business and pleasure and even lived there for a while.

Otherwise it seems a pretty normal fortnight in CC land, that is apart from the Scotsman buying somebody a pint... Well done Longers, was it Noodley perchance?
As for Mr Paul, does his Care-in-the-community officer know?

Mmmm, a few other changes apart from the Green wheelie bin-thing, like the related posts bit at the bottom of the page that I've just seen. Good stuff.

Hope you had a good holiday, FF. Interlaken is a great place. We have already planned our return to it next year. WE planned a year off Switzerland this year and were in nearby Alsace and Burgundy. Alas our resistance broke and we dropped into Basel for a day as we had not visited is before. Beautiful city.
