Jury Service - Update

I posted a week or so ago that I had been called for jury service for the sixth time and I was hoping - nay, praying! - that HM Court Service would take pity on me, especially as this would cause havoc to my business (self employed consultant). Joy, oh joy, this morning's post brought a letter from HMCS excusing me. There may be enough snow outside to prevent me from travelling, currently there's a mini blizzard, it's bloody freezing, and I've just got back from a funeral (my dear old neighbour) but it feels like the sun is shining down on me and there's a song in my heart..............

They tend to be fairly decent in my experience, though that may depend on the locality.
I got called up for the second time, with dates that would have clashed horribly with my exams at Uni, so I wrote in to explain my circumstances and that I had recently been up anyway. I got let off the hook within days.

6 times?

Strewth...I would have thought you could get yourself excused on the grounds that making you do it 6 times has undermined your impartialty because you are so completely titsed off with doing it.

Right then, I'm off to find me a decent Human Rights lawyer, we'll soon have that sorted.

Probably could claim exclusion from jury service if you are the defendant.

I have never been called for jury service  I quite fancy it, does anyone know if an 8 stretch for armed robbery bars you
