No, Chuffy and I had a look at it...am sure it's a good route, but if I'm going to have that much pain in my legs I'd rather spare myself a sore purse into the bargain! If some of the entry fee went to the charity I'd be more inclined to enter - I find it hard to persuade people to sponsor me for anything these days.
Concur fully - again (my own fault I suppose for not reading carefully) I assumed some of the entry fee would be going to the prostate cancer charity, but as you say, it isn't; however, I have been bombarded a little by the charity trying to get me to raise sponsorship for the ride, which was never my intention - I do give to charities, but by my own methods.
I think this will be my last ever year of riding sportives alongside audaxes, It'll be audax only from now on - sportives are just pricing themselves out of the market and not necessarily delivering good events (with one or two notable exceptions, like the Dartmoor Classic).
