I think Giant do one, and possibly Dawes - although this maybe set up as a Cyclocross bike.

Many thanks

many thanks for the replies. Quite pricey those though.

Any further help would be appreciated.

Would really like to buy a pre-owned one.

Thanks again.

Pre-owned ones can be difficult to find advertised. When my son was of that age, what we found that the market in secondhand ones was by word of mouth between members of cycling clubs where kids were meeting up for say track/cyclocross and word got about that A was buying a new bike for his/her child as child had grown, so A might be interested in an offer for said bike and the like.

Edit: The other place we found useful was ebay. But ebay with a great deal of caution. If we bought a bike we met up with the seller and paid for the bike when we collected it.

This months C+ has an advert that suggests Dawes are entering the fray with a kids road bike. There is another advertsied in the mag from one of the bike shops, might be Pearsons, but getting on for £400 IIRC.

The Decathlon one is no longer imported, I've not been to a Decathlon in France to see if they still have them, but for VFM they are pretty good. 600c wheels, steel frame, decent brakes, my 9 year old has one and really likes it, but was struggling with the handlebar shape and braking, I showed him a flat-bar Boardman, and he was happy then to go for a flat bar conversion, using some V brake levers, cheap Shimano Tourney thumbies and some Ritchey bar ends from my tool box.

But there is no way that is getting sold at the moment! Maybe in a year or two, but not now, he fits it, likes it, uses it regularly.

You might get one on Ebay, but last year after Decathlon stopped them the prices got very, very, silly. Things may have cooled down a bit now, but there would still be a supply & demand issue if people are still keen to own them.
