I went out for my longest ride ever this morning. Approximately 35-40 miles, incorporating the short Northern Rock Cyclone route. I was absolutely flying, felt at one with the bike and had no pain or numbness following some adjustments earlier this week.

Got home to find that my GPS app had recorded only 29 miles, at an av. speed of 14mph. The broken red line on the route map told me it had cut out for large chunks of the route! Nevermind, who cares about numbers anyway? I was in a great mood.

And then...I managed to triple padlock the garage with my keys inside. Anyone know a good locksmith?

Gutted on the padlocks! As for the gps track, do you have the ability to download it to a computer as a .gpx file? If so, there are plenty of sites that offer free web-based apps to correct it and add in those missing miles. www.sportypal.com would let you do so, and I'm sure others would too!

Thanks! I'll take a look. I've found the spare key for one padlock. The other two are in work. Public transport for me tomorrow...

Edit: I've traced the route online and it was 35.6 miles, so the GPS took 6 miles off me!

Good going , i have yet to go gps as i find a simple computer that records wheel revolutions gives me an accurate reading and very rarely stops working .

Did something even more idiotic last week.

Paused the garmin trek timer when I went for a cuppa, and then forgot to switch it back on

I managed to back track using bikehike when I got home and massaged my broken ego.

I didnt exaggerate my mileage and averages, honest.

That's one of the main reasons why I ditched phone based route mapping apps, they either kill the battery well before the end of your ride or just plain mis-read the Satellite fix.
I hear very good things about the new Garmin 200, if you just want a route mapper with very little frills.
