This unusual recumbent has recently become available for a very reasonable price.

I can find very limited information . Has anyone got suggestions where to look?

It didn't take a lot of googling to come up with this:- Jouta trikes, based at one time in Rotterdam. Tilting rear wheel steering trikes. That's really niche!

Jouta SuperTrike

" The best known RWST's have been the Jouta trikes. They were produced successfully for several years.

It is easy to ride on them, thanks to a special patented tilt-steer system. This system makes a tilt with every steering movement. The disadvantage of this tilting system is that there is a fixed tilting angle for each steering angle. It would be better as this would be speed-dependant (more tilting in the same corner at higher speeds). This trike could be ridden very well, but at higher speeds it can be suddenly unstable. That's one of the reasons why the production was finally stopped.

Jouta VX trike (ownership: Roland Plasschaert)
The trike above is the Jouta SuperTrike. It was made of mould-shaped plastic.
The trike on the right is a later version, the Jouta VX. It was made of steel tubes, and had rear suspension.

More information about these trikes (in dutch, but with lots of well understandable pictures) can be found at the site of Axel Belinfante."

I think that link above is dead, but there is more out there. I hope I'm not infringing anyone's copyright, but that is a very old source. Good luck in your quest for further information.

Yes. I did see that. But there is very little about it.

Hmmm ! Very interesting, fine on flat straight Dutch fietspad, but here in bumpy up & down UK, that steering could make life very difficult, I think all tilt steer trikes would be a lot of 'fun' ,i.e. difficult, especially if as you say its rear wheel steer,I am undecided on front wheel drive, I've not tried the system.
