Joining British Cycling

You can join British Cycling as a "Ride" member for £24/year.

Amongst other things you get free legal advice and third party insurance cover for commuting , pleasure and sportive riding (I imagine this would include audax as well).

seems a good deal to me , anyone any experience of using the insurance cover?

I joined the CTC for pretty much the same reason - insurance and legal.

However, I know a way to get your first year membership of British Cycling half price if you need it....

Yes, a good friend was hit by a Land Rover and trailer when out training. The cops dropped all charges despite it being black and white. He broke his pelvis in the accident. BC lawyers did everything for him, and he got a 6 figure payout - a success.

Nice one thanks for the heads up - I just joined too. Been meaning to for ages - result!

Don't think the promotion is much of a secret - just google "british cycling membership promotional code" ;0)

I got half price membership at the skyride in Brum! But seemed like a good idea to me to join, so I did.
