I've been shocked at how many people don't know John Prine. To me this was staggering news that should have made massive headlines. Just one of the best and one of my favourite artists ever.

I 'discovered' him only a couple of years ago and it never ceases to amaze me that I'd not come across him before. Anyway, here's one of my favourites:

Ah "The Happy Enchilada" song...

I recall watching a concert on TV when he said someone requested the Happy Enchilada song. John had no idea what song they were referring to until they sang the chorus... and this was it!

I've listened to bits and pieces by him over the years, but I'm definitely going to be checking out his music in more depth-after all it's not like I don't have the time at the moment!
