Hi guys this is a bit late but had trouble getting on the net changing isp has been a mess.
Ride around Britain 14-15-16 June

The journey started some 4 ½ weeks ago when I received an email from my boss at work asking if anyone wanted to do a ride from John O Groats to lands end .At first I thought they were joking but after a few more enquiry’s I found out that the ride would be done over 9 days and a young lady had booked us to do a relay consisting of three teams of 5

1 driver 4 riders 3 days per relay and three stages per day. I decided to bite the bullet and sign up after which 2 weeks later my bike was stolen! I was put in touch with Becky who was an absolute wizz at getting things organized she sorted a temporary replacement bike for the ride . After a some if-ing and are-ing I found myself at Euston station waiting for the train to Glasgow. The first team handed over to us, we were the second team of three. The ride down form glasgow was for me hard going but not as tough as the first team who had to ride through three days of torrential rain. we had it easy riding on average 9 hrs per day for three days with some light showers my target was an average of 66 miles per day i managed 103miles the first day 114 miles second day + 8 miles off track as i got lost and missed the sign for the pit stop ( mousketeering ) on the last day i only managed 70 miles but am realy chuffed at managing my best ever distance with out much preperation and on a borrowed bike but i have to say i was left in awe of the riders who were doing the whole ride from start to finish! and the views on the way up to Shap breath taking, the bee cought in my helmet on the way down from Shap positively hilarious the sight of my finish line at ludlow absolutly beautifull. sore bum and quads worthit. I had a fantastic time and hope next year to complete the whole ride. Thanks to Andy Ride organiser for that push up shap in my darkest moments and congrats all who finished the ride.
