Jodrell Bank, nice Cheshire Ride.

I had a nice ride to Jodrell Bank today, it's about a 40 mile round trip from Warrington.
It's a flattish ride, so it's no problem if you do regular 40-50 mile rides.

It's a highly recommended ride, seeing the Big Dish Radio Telescope out in the field is superb, well done Bernard Lovell for getting the Telescope build against all the odds.

I'd done this ride to Jodrell Bank when I was a young cyclist, many, many years ago, so it brought back happy memories.

I hope you went in the Cafe at the Visitors centre. They even have covered cycle parking.

The cafe used to be epic. Now they no longer do the fish finger sandwich, we no longer go there.

Ah - but do they have p******* repair kits and tools for cyclists to borrow? The Hepworth (in Wakefield) does ....... or did the last time I was there. Just ask at the main reception desk! Cyclists .

The bacon sandwich is a good one, get there before 1130 though (having said that I was there recently at 1145 and said pretty please and they did one for me). If the baked cheesecake is on, have it, it's delicious.
Sitting there surrounded by the displays, makes me realise how little I know and how small we are. Great place.

Ah, it's nice Jodrell Bank. I remember visiting it as a kid. It was also useful for rhyming slang purposes as a teenager.
