anyone any experience of cycling/touring in Japan and any good links to share? especially if anyone is aware of sportives in Japan or Korea in October.....long shot I know.

www.skedaddle.co.uk has a 2 week tour that I keep looking at BUT it's not cheap. However, Japan can be difficult for the individual traveller to negotiate. Skedaddle also can arrange bike hire. Flights are around £600. KLM,BA,Virgin,JAL,ANA will all get you to Japan

I have been to Japan before but got stuck in cities which are ace of course, really want to check out the landscape, it's so different to Europe. I'm going to a wedding and have good friends in Japan and Korea, but they are not cyclists and don't trust their judgemnet! The japanese and Koreans are so nice in the city, I expect they will be even nicer in the country side I thought maybe I could just wing it. I thought the YEN was weak at the mo, was hoping for a bargin.

I'll take my own bike though since I have a small WSD that fits me just right.
