Having got my new road bike up and running its time to let my MTB find a new home, from its current one in Washington Tyne & Wear
For sale a Jamis Trail X3 Mountain Bike (2012) 19 inch frame £200
This is a very well looked after, excellent condition mountain bike, which is less than a year old. It will make an excellent commuter or first mountain bike. The Trail X3 is proof positive that trickle-down technology is a good thing. Just a few years ago, the Enduro III frame would’ve been state of the art with its oversize, ovalized, tapered 6061 aluminum tubing, radically sloping top tube and trussed seat tube. In fact, it bears more than a passing resemblance to the Jamis Dakota dXC bike, with a frame that’s lightweight and strong, backed by proven geometry and killer parts spec. It was upgradedd for 2012 with a 34.9mm seat tube and 31.6mm seat post for a firmer, more efficient pedaling platform.
The Trail X3 offers a slightly more upright riding position than our other mountain bikes to help relieve strain on neck and back, and give you a taller perch for see-over-traffic perspective on city forays. And the handling’s tweaked for a bit more stability, which helps you thread your way through the trail with confidence.
The tyres have been upgraded to Schwalbe City Jets which offer unrivalled puncture protection and a semi slick tread offer lower rolling resistance than traditional knobbly tyres.
I have also added Raleigh peddles with toe clips (the original flat pedals are unused and included with the bike) as well as front and rear mudguards
The right hand grear shift/brake lever mech was replaced in Feb this year at my local bike shop
The only significant paint work damage is from cable rubbing on the left side of the head stock (please see picture)
