I'm looking for a cycling jacket on a bit of a budget (£30) - there are lots on offer but I'm struggling to find one that is clearly identified as both breathable with taped seams following tips from others.

Could someone recommend one in my budget? Preference would be to something bright for increased visibility, but that isn't essential.

For what weather conditions? Windy, wet, warmer, colder?

Look at cycle-clothing.co.uk or see what wiggle have in dhb sale

You don't need to spend a lot of money for a good jacket, but cheap will get you what you pay for.

This. Taped seams & breathable (which is quite a relative term) for £30 is a big ask. Look around in the sales for a shell/race cape rather than something with insulation.

Sorry - it's for cycling in the rain. But if something all purpose was say £50 I could consider that.

If you don't mind getting a bit sweaty, my funkier rain cape works well. I get uncomfortably cold when wet so hot is a bonus!

£50 won't easily get something waterproof and breathable which doesn't become boil in the bag

Have a look at Dare 2b http://www.dare2b.com/activity/road-biking/jackets-windshells?solr_gender=710&solr_product_group=969

no idea what they are like but they look good value , might have to go and have a look myself

just wandered if anybody has any experience of them

Dare2Be seem to be a brand of Regatta who do budget sports clothing for various sports. I have some of their D2B stuff. It's perfectly functional. The stitching is not great though and the colours run when washing. I got my items cheap and I wouldn't have paid the RRP for them. 6/10

If you looking for a rain jacket then Aldi should do them soon for about £20. They aren't top quality but good enough to keep you dry from the rain. Not very breathable but in all honesty you can pay 10 times that and you would still boil in them. I wear it with a merino layer and it works well for me.

The bonus is that if you rip it or stain it.... just get a new one next time they are on offer.
