Its official: youtube dont give a monkeys

I came across a few comments that really shocked me yesterday. I mean to the point of real, nasty and hateful bigotry. After scouting around youtube for a good hour I'd figured out how to report the comments in question and filled out in the hope said user would be sorted out.

Got an email today saying I'd presented the same info more than once and said perhaps I'd pressed the button more than once. Not true at all. It also said my concerns would be ignored.

It also said my message was spam!!!?

F***ing hell, what is wrong with youtube? They go bananas over a nipple but allow video of assaults, even one or two rapes until the police stepped in. I've tried to mention before on there that they need to have a report user button next to comments that are offensive, but they wont. I'm guessing they're just in it for the cyberhits.

Yep and my teenage son goes on there all the time! Scares me what he might be looking at!

You Tube is full of dodgy stuff.....hence, when my 8 year old decided he wanted to know all about Nuclear power/ power generation, I checked the links first....there are so many 'other' links that comes up.......

They don't give a hoots !!!

Someone uploaded a vid on how to make a bl**dy bomb a year or two back you know. It was tagged and easily found, and yet they let it stay until the press got ahold of the story.

If I find stuff on there I do try and flag unacceptable material. My cousins arent allowed on there (they're very young) without material being vetted and a lot of works places are blocking it now.

At the end of the day it is their site, but they still have certain legal obligations I would imagine.

There's a helluva lot of dodgy stuff on the web; some you partake off, some you don't. What? You mean you've never downloaded a song, a movie, or looked at a botty site? If not, can you point me to the search engine you use!!

Never illegally downloaded anything. Have obviously looked at naughty women, but on sites where the material was paid for and authorised by the creator.

The thing is you need to check...... what's going on - especially if you have kids...... and young....

The other end....I'm the poor sod that has to fix the other stoopid idiots in my family (not my house) that screw up their PC's with viruses and sheeeeitteeee !!!

I feel like saying--- save what you need, I'll wipe it..... I get expected to save settings etc... next time not.....

We should be grateful for YouTube from a scientific point of view. It's confirmed what we've suspected for eons: most people are idiots. They just needed the right medium to prove it.

My sister was talking to her 10 year old son about the pop groups she liked when she was young so he went and googled queen and ended up looking at naked transvestites, I think he will be very confused now.
