It's *never* mudguard fitting time. Mudguards are for jessies.

Yep, mudguards match tyre size, both diameter and width.

Are these hybrids or road bikes or what? You can get guards for 700c and for 26", which will be on the tyre, and different widths, just make sure the guard is wider than the tyre or you will still have a wet ass/legs/feet.

Also make sure the guard will fit under the brakes/brake bridge if these are road bikes, and that you get all the p-clips you need if you dont have mudguard eyes.

Mudguards are for those that go out with others in winter and dont spray them with all the s**te from the road.;)

And for those who don't want the 'evacuation' tail stripe up their shorts/shirt/back of their head etc  .
They also stop some of the crud being flung at your frame/brakes/legs/light battery packs etc.
Mudguard envy is not a healthy emotion you know

Not so much for winter as for use in the rainy season which seems to last about 11.5 months each year in Britain.

I don't mind getting my waterproofs covered in spray and muck, but I went out in the sunshine on Monday only to find that the hills were awash after the night's rain. It never actually rained on me so I never put on any waterproofs, but I got so covered in muck anyway that it's persuaded me that mudguards are a good thing.
