About the worst conditions for a commute tonight, wind in my face and raining to boot, plenty of water on the roads and greasy just to make things a little hairy...soaked to the skin (mudguards being bought this weekend!)...and yep my first ever clipless moment.....done in style:smile:

I am creeping up behind a car as i know the lights are about to change, not in primary but no need in this instance.....see driver faffing about around his dashboard.......slowly slowly...driver still faffing......lights change.....driver still faffing..........misjudge timing of my unclip and i decide to take a lay down on the pavement because i am tired and wet
So i'm still laying there whilst watching the driver slowly drive off looking in his rear view mirror......i hope he can lip read!
Got to admit it seemed as if it was in slow motion but i did it in style as i seemed to fold myself down rather than thump down....i was not happy at the time as the driver wasn't paying due attention but i can laugh about it now......not as much as the wife has though:rolleyes:

It was bound to happen....surprised its taken this long really......can i be in the clipless club now??

edit...sorry cannot change spelling of thread title

I don't get that. How is it the driver's fault that you fall off.

read it again....i blamed the driver at first.......he wasn't paying attention and had not noticed the lights had changed to green....then i realised after i had cooled down just as much my fault for not unclipping quickly enough!
you both seem to have focused on the fact that i mentioned the driver rather than the fact that i decided to have a lay down on a cold and wet pavement.....its a "clipless moment" thread not a "blame the driver" thread but hey ho read as you want

Sorry, but it reads that you fell & the driver was at fault.

Anyway, You've only fallen on one side, you've still got the other side to go:thumbsup:

Luckily for me not too many people walking about and apart from the rush hour traffic i doubt many would have noticed due to the rain.
One nice young lady did ask if i was alright as she was walking past though so she got a thank you for asking.......bet she was cracking up on the quiet really:biggrin:

My first time was when my cycle computer bounced down the road. I turned around to get it & forgot to unclip.

Mine was my back light popping out of the mount and forgetting to unclip when i stopped to pick it up

Second moment was the worst .. Cycle Chat forum ride
We were stationary chatting and i had my left foot clipped in ready to go but i just tilted the bike slightly and over i went ..
