Out on a ride today, second ride with the new bike, when I noticed the comp had stopped working. Pulled over into the bus stop to investigate only to forget to unstrap my feet doh, and I thought I was doing so well. Scrape in the saddle:sad: but that was all, so could have been a lot worse. Just annoyed with my self

Straps, and I was thinking of going clipless lol. Need to practice a wee bit more

Me and you both, I have strapless clips on my road bike (bought last Friday), it came with clipless pedals but I did not feel confident enough to use them and asked the shop to change them, nice touch as they did not charge me for the new pedals and let me keep the clipless ones.

Did it once, just toppled over onto my side strapped in the cycling position, luckily it was in my last house's back alley and I was alone, never used straps since.

I didnt get on with my straps (althought there was a learning curve).

I find SPD's much better. At least you can clip in without faffing about using your hands. Heal out and your unclipped.

I found clipless are more responsive. Just put some spds on the mtb after using look pedals on th eroadie and it does make a difference. I think the fall is part of the learning curve:hyper:
