I want to buy torque wrench and bike repair stand.
Without spending a lot.
First is torque wrench. https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bi...kehut-torque-wrench-with-sockets-701767.html?
Its between 2nm - 24nm Is that enough for all cycling tightening needs?
I will be overhauling ,my bike tightening everything again checking for the creak that I still have to solve.
But if torque wrench is a silly gimmick please advise me not to buy

And here is the bike stand, https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-maintenance/bike-work-stands/bikehut-repair-stand-164412.html?

I know halfords is not the best place, but for the price, will it hold up?

Thanks

I have the same stand and it does its job just fine.

A torque wrench just seems so - unemotional.

I go for 4 settings:
- tight - stem cap?
- very tight - mudguard bolt?
- this b*** is not coming loose any time soon tight - pedals?
- I am going to pass out if I try to tighten this any further tight - square taper crank?

Reason I am looking into a torque wrench, is because I feel I overtighten bolts.
Which leads to creaking noise when I cycle. Well not sure if overtightening leads to creaking

But if it does, then this could solve my issue? hmm

That torque wrench is a rebadged cyclo unit, decent for the price although I think you are misunderstanding how much it will help you. Overtightening doesn't result in creaking, but may result in stripped bolt heads or damages parts/bearings.

The stand is also fine, check Amazon though the to tend to have similar reasonably priced. Halfords are usually priced a bit high but very serviceable. If you can't find similar cheaper elsewhere it's a good buy.

I've got Sealey torque wrenches but I suspect that most of the brands are made in the same Chinese factories and badged up differently. Get yourself a set of inexpensive square drive hex keys on Ebay. About £10 for an eight piece set.

I only use my Torque wrench on my GXP BB as it has to be stupidly tight and can't get the leverage with a standard or even a long hex key !

The torque wrench is fine. While that stand might work I originally had a Park Tool Shop Stand. This worked perfect. I got a concussion and for two years I didn't know what I was doing and apparently I either sold it off of left the garage open and someone stole it. I replaced it with the Park Tool Amazon product ASIN B07PDS5M7HView: https://www.amazon.com/Park-Tool-Mechanic-Repair-Stand/dp/B07PDS5M7H/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Park+Tool+Stand&qid=1608597912&sr=8-2
Except with the "professional head clamp and not that amateur one. That probably works fine but I work on a lot of bikes and it is nice to be able to rapidly change from top tube (or seat post) diameter to another rapidly. I must say that for general use the new Park Tool stand works better than the old one with the 50 lb baseplate.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but a torque wrench is for not over-tightening a bolt and not giving you additional leverage to overtighten things.
