Is this proof Carbon bikes really do melt in the rain?

Fiz'ik have a rubber ring that fits on the bottom of their seatpost keeping water and grit from the seatpost/frame joint. I'm guessing the fix will be something similar. There's one on my audax bike because it matches the paint scheme

I use silicone sealant round the top of the tube and up the clamping slot on all frames, no matter what they are made of. It stops the BB filling with water.

Surely they dissolve in the rain?

(And shatter into a million pieces in cold weather, of course.)

But melt?

Only if it's above 28°c
