Is this compatible with 7 speed?

I'm used to 10 speed TBH so I'm not sure about this.

Would THIS 8 speed chainset be compatible with a 7 speed set up?

Yes they use the same chains. TBH I run 9/10 speed chain rings on a 8 speed set up, and a 9 speed chain - all works.

I also run a 9 speed chain on the 7 speed MTB - no problems (PS just so happened to have the chain in the tool box when the old one needed replacing).

Loving the downtube shifters I put on my Dawes TBH, the bike is really smooth to ride.

Still wouldn't want them on the CAAD though
