Hmm, sounds dodgy. I've not ever had that trouble so can't give a definitive answer, but to kick your thread rolling, I'd say look at the height and angle of your saddle. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit too high and pointing upwards at the nose, as a guess. If it is, maybe angle it so it's flat or only a couple of degrees up at the front. If you still have trouble, maybe try one of those saddles with a hole or groove in the middle, which is supposed to take the pressure off your crown jewels.

If when you say 'get the feelings back' you mean 'fix it so it doesn't keep happening', try the abovementioned. If you mean 'my old chap has been numb for a week, what should I do?' then get theeself to a medic. Seriously.

Unless by lower regions you mean your ankles…

+1 on the angle (to help your 'dangle') and height adjustment.

I had exact same problem - exacerbated if I was just using a 'trainer' instead of being out on the road - solution for me was nose down a few degrees each time (and mucked about with height a cm at a time) until problem reduced and then dissapeared when I got the set up right.

I have two bikes which both have 'solid' (no cutout) saddles. I experience numbness in the 'dangle' when on a long ride and especially when climbing on both of them. I found when touring it would start earlier each day the longer the tour went on - as you get tired you put more pressure in the saddle as your legs don't support as much of your weight.

On my very old bike I had a Selle Italia saddle with a cutout for the 'gooch'. No numbness experienced. I've adjusted the saddles and nothing seems to work as well as using the older saddle which just puts less pressure on that area. I don't particularly like a downward nosed saddle - it's just not comfortable.

I would recommend a saddle change. It's what I'll do when I've saved up and found a good one.

I have suffered from this problem and it isn't very nice! I sorted my issues by checking my saddle with a spirit level to make sure its straight. I've heard that there are some veins where you are seated and this can potentially cause the issue. Every now and then I stand up on the bike to release any presure; especially on longer rides.

Either horizontal, or dipping down at the front a few half degrees at most. Never have it pointed upwards as this puts pressure where you want it the least.

Charge Spoon +1.

Saddle positioning and overall bike sizing and fitting is important as well as finding the saddle(s) that work for you--a decision no one else can make for you. Unless you optimize bike fit though, you'll never get comfortable on any saddle.

Check out the bike fit page on VeloWeb (link below) for more tips.

Following the suggestions regarding the saddle, get out of the saddle on a regular basis and stand to pedal to allow some circulation.

I get it a lot on long slow tempo rides, where I do nothing but sit steadily pedalling away for hours, and the solution is to stand at least once every ten minutes for about 30 seconds to a minute
