Is the Garmin Edge 705 still a good GPS?

Hi,
I'm looking for some advice regarding cycling GPS's. Currently I'm using my phone and the Strava app for mapping rides etc, but recently it hasn't been cutting it.
I've been looking around the web for deals on Garmins and the 705 appears to cater for everything I need. However, is the model outdated, or would it still be quick and do everything the Edge 800 does (for example) without the touch screen, Bluetooth and temperature?
Thanks

Yes they are good. The screen is a little easier to read in bright sun light. It does all the nav that the 800 and above do, with a few less bells and whistles.

I use both Garmin maps and Open MTB free maps, which are very good and detailed compared to the Garmin maps.

They do everything you need, and are a bit more robust than the newer models.

The small "Joystick" can be fiddly with gloves.......but then again teh touch screen on the more modern ones is a problem with gloves as well!

I'm on my third 705- USB ports died on the first two- and Garmin have yet to produce an updated model that for my needs makes it worth upgrading (they haven't cottoned on that a bigger battery might be an idea...). It's a bit slower to load tracks and get a location fix than newer ones, but you want to do that at stops anyway...
