Buying through cycle to work scheme

had a visit to Evans on sat. Had in my head that the Fuji 1.3 sportive looked like a good spec for £750 ( cable discs and 105).
However they only have one left in warehouse, and I couldn't do the £50 deposit to get it put aside, hopefully it will still be available tomorrow (pay day) so I can do deposit. Which will still be the route I am going on if it works out.

So looked at pinnacle Dolamite 4 cable disc and Tiagra £800, also the dolamite5 hydraulic and 105 £1000.

So finally the question. Is the extra £200 worth it? It would work out as about 12/month

Went for a spin on the pinnacle, on the xl frame (I'm 6'3"). Couldn't believe how high matey set my saddle. Felt like I was riding a penny farthing. Like the feel and ride position

Sorry it's such a ramble, and I guess you are all getting fed up with saying whatever feels best for you ! But thanks in advance for your thoughts

Hydraulic disc and 105 is worth the extra £200 IMO. That's what I'd be looking for myself.

Hydraulic discs v cable discs are not an "upgraded" version of the same thing. They're a totally different thing altogether. And yes..worth it in my opinion

I went for hydraulic on my Fuji and have absolutely no regrets in having done so.

I had a similar choice and paid the extra as i was used to hydraulic disc brakes on my mountain bike and found they worked very well for me. The 105 also works well.

You have done the right thing to test ride and compare, a bike that feels right and fits well is important.
