or have the prices of cycle clothing gone through the roof?

I was looking online for some summer clothes -nothing special; jersey, shorts etc.

Looking on Wiggle and CRC and you can pay £200+ for shorts, and most jerseys are about £70 or more! WTF!

Who is buying this stuff? There are even plenty of customer reviews - are they making it up to pretend that they can afford this kit?

What happened to £19.99 for a jersey/shorts?

I think a lot of people are realising that if you invest more, you are not only get a much better product but it will last a long time. For example I would rather have one pair of Assos shorts than six or seven pairs of 20 quid ones.

Decathlon offer good value.

I agree

Very good value.

I have 2 pairs of bib shorts bought in Oct 09, a pair of running lycra tights, a couple of their sweat layers and a couple of shorts. Total cost was about £70.

I reckon they are all good for another 12 months at the very least (perhaps the cheaper of the two bib shorts may need replacing by then).

I've made several journeys back there since. Last time my wife bought 2 pink cycling tops for £2.50 each on special offer (the ones with the large back pocket). They are excellent quality and they fit me too. I ususlly use them as a base layer as for me they are too thin for all but the hottest of days. Here Decathlon tops
