Good morning all!

Does anyone know of a mount for the iPhone 3Gs, ideally bar or stem? I've just got the Cyclemeter app and although it still works in pockets I think it would be a great alternative to the traditional computer (when it's dry!!!

Thanks, B

There are several on the market, most recently one by Altura for under £20. But don't forget, battery life will be even more of an issue if you run it with the screen turned on.

I have one by dahon, the biologic, it's been problem free for me, it's on my hybrid.
On the road bike phone goes in jersey pocket untouched. Still runs out of puff after about 5 hrs with wireless and bluetooth turned off.

I got the Tigra iPhone mount from the Apple store last year and it's been great. The new version, which the same as the Dahon Biologic as far as I can tell, is available here at a decent price. It's waterproof up to a point and I've never had any problems with it falling off despite what some of the reviews say.

Thanks gents, I reckon the Dahon/Tigra looks pretty good... what's the build quality like though? There were a few less than complimentary reviews

You might think about getting an armband case and mounting it on your forearm rather than on the bars. I prefer it there especially when I am city commuting.

I have one of those Griffin Adidas Mi Coach Armband for iPhone 4 and on the whole it has been ok even protecting my iphone when it started raining.

The only problem I found is it tends to slide down your arm as you are cycling along or else you have to ratched it so tight you feel like your having your blood pressure being taken and your arm is gonna explode !

Tried it wearing it over jersey and direct to skin too.

Now I just stick the phone in my jersey back pocket and leave runkeeper on full volume for everyone to enjoy !

The build quality is absolutely fine. I get the point in the reviews about the mount slipping on the stem, but it's easily to rectifiy by mounting it on top of a small strip of rubber (e.g. a piece of gel handlebar tape) or, my personal favourite, No More Nails on a Roll double sided sticky stuff. I also got into the habit of sliding a cable tie over the case as extra security in keeping it shut, but that is probably just paranoia. Mine is fixed rock solid and I have never had any incidents with it. It's great for apps like cycemeter and also listening to the radio through the phone.

I've just got this and I'm impressed so far:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/UltimateAdd...V8F4/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1312348895&sr=8-6

Not used it yet in the rain but the rubber seals look very sound.

Ignore this positive comment. I went over a bumpy section of road this afternoon. Part of the mount bounced off the bike, straight into the road. The clips retaining the phone cover opened and planted my iPhone in the middle of the road. Fortunately the car behind me missed it my millimetres. Useless bloody thing

Dahon biologic, but I would buy the one that fits both the 3GS and iPhone 4, why? Well when you up grade to the iPhone 4 you won't have to buy a new holder, but more importantly is the design has changed, the case is much sturdier because the hinge has been moved from the top to the side, and the clasp that holds it shut is much stronger, I've used mine in heavy rain, no problems water tight!
