Not sure if this is the right forum but couldn't decide where to post. I was browsing for cycling apps for my iPhone yesterday and came across a series from Ordnance Survey called Outdoors, which is based on the Landranger series of 1:50 scale maps for any given region. Being O/S I'm inclined to trust these will be of good quality and a useful thing to have on the phone.

Does anyone have any experience. At £14.99 it's quite pricey but would be good value I feel.

I presume iPod touch gets apps in the same way as iPhone? If so go to Apps, search on "cycling maps" and look for an icon with a yellow background and two boot sole marks on it

Check out Cyclemeter iphone app. It is fantastic, I never go on a ride without it. Maps your route, keeps a diary of your training, talks to you during your ride, time, distance, speed etc. You can also compete against previous rides. It is great for training. Definately worth checking out!

A friend used Open Street Map on the iPhone. In general on phones it works pretty well through bluetooth and an external antenna (which isn't large).
