Internal cable rattle

I just purchased a specialised carbon Hybrid, i expect there has been lots of threads on this🤔.
I notice where cables go into frame there are no grommets, just the holes in frame.
so not much room to slide a sleeve over the outer cable & the rattle is half way down the tube.
Is my option to taut outer cable & put a zip tie on?.
Thanks for any advise😁.

Fill the affected tube with silicone sealant. You can still get the wires out when you need to change them that way. You could just coat the wires in some sort of silicone compound as well.

Think the rattles are outer cables, one is front DERAILLEUR & other is rear hydraulic brake.all are in down tube.

Perhaps this video clip has a useful idea? know tubes can be filled with expanding foam etc but would not recommend it.

My newest bike a Planet xPro Carbon bought in2017 has external cabling and was one of the reasons I bought it Changing cables is a fiddler enough job taken tape off and replacing it. Sod all-this aero dynamics.

Chuck the stem top cap away ( after you’ve pretensioned and torqued the stem bolts up). You’ll have made the weight back.

shoving a load of bubble wrap down the tube, to stop internally routed outers rattling, isn’t unknown.

Do you have some sort of access to the cables via the BB shell. In other words, if you remove the crank and BB and look in there, how big is the hole that leads from the BB to the downtube?

As the old lady on the motorway did when she had a flat tyre, just turn the radio up then you'll not hear the rattle.

Indeed. For the very negligible gain in aero dynamic efficiency, is internal cable routing really worth all the extra faff & cost - ?

I had a cube that rattled on badly surfaced roads, I managed to pass an old split tube over the internal hydraulic hose for the rear and that cured it.

Ok will have a look, the bike has the future shock on it & not took one of these apart.
