I saw this bike neglected and chained to a front wall of a house in Hammersmith, I’m not familiar with the riders name that’s on it or the make , could be a good steely to run around on
Even if the frames were prone to failure BITD, I'd say it's a safe bet that any that were going to fail did so quite early on, and any bikes still around now after all those years are probably built OK, even if they are low end.
From what I remember Tensor Cycles sold a lot of budget bikes via mail order in the late 70’s early 80’s. Their adverts were always in the back of The Yorkshire Post, they were based in the North East, not particularly good bikes but they were cheap! My brother had a Rudi Altig, I bought a slightly more expensive Tsunda Grand Prix and my Mum bought a folding bike all from Tensor.
The bike pictured in my opinion is not really worth rescuing.
