Hi guys,

Got a question that has popped up whilst doing my build up. The angle of the seat is ridiculous, it angles backwards so much it's very uncomfortable. The seat mast clamp/topper that I have now seems to have no adjustment. It could be that the bit that is meant to rotate is seized, it just won't budge. I've resigned myself to buying another but I can't seem to find any for sale or even what they are called technically.

Can anyone help?
It won't let me attach a photo due to its size

Re save the photo and choose a smaller size. Around 1mb usually works. That way we can have a wee looksy.

Integrated posts should all have 2-3cm's adjustment.

I'll try to post it again but I'm using my phone.

For clarity it's not height that is the issue, it's angle of the seat.

Apologies for poor photo quality, and a half finished bike with crap pedals

Does the seatpost clamp not have 2 x 5mm nuts under the seat? Or one at the side of the clamp? If so then slacken these/it off and then reset the seat angle and you are good to go. The forward and back seat adjustment can also be set to taste from here.

If it's not that kind of seat post or clamp then maybe another one would be a better plan. There should be a bolt at the back of the integrated seat post. This allows the seat post to be removed and another one fitted.

BTW looks like a Chinese carbon frame yeh? Is this the seat post they sent with the build? I'd be surprised if there wasn't adjustment as it's obviously not fit for use in that position.

Also can i ask does the seat post go inside the frame or is it just slid over the top? It looks like an over frame clamp.

Most integrated seat posts go inside the frame. It's not too clear from the photo but it looks like it's clamped over. ??

It's a clamp over type one. It does have the two bolts under the seat that loosen the seat but for whatever reason it won't let me change the angle.

I'm going to have to look for another one but I can't seem to find any on chainreaction or wiggle...

Mine must be seized then because it won't budge.

The metal claw bits will come off no problem. It then leaves the plastic round but with the grooves in place. Should this come out? I figure that's the bit that needs to rotate but I never tried to pull it out withch force

there are two conical shaped pieces that rotate so that the angle of the saddle can be adjusted - when you do up the clamps, they are pressed into a recessi in the seat post and they can be quite hard to rotate - as you have found out. Tap them out with a screw driver through the bolt hole. (I think - would need to go and look to be sure)
