Don't do it Pyeeater!!
I'm having trouble with BC insurance which is the other arm linked to cycleguard- I did recommend them to someone a whileback but definitely wouldn't now - this is my second claim for theft and I definitely would stay away from BC insurance!
I've copied my pm to someone on the same topic:
Just rang them to chase the claim and they are two weeks behind - so my form won't get looked at until 2 weeks time.
Also asked if they monies can be paid directly to me and they said that they don't do that- basically they try to go through their suppliers so that they can get the bike at a reduced cost - so technically you will have insured the bike for x amount but they will pay the bike shop less than that as they've done a deal beforehand.
They advised that if I want to buy a bike myself - if my insurance doesn't get approved I won't get the monies back. There is also the added problem that if they find my bike for cheaper through their suppliers then that amount will be taken off my monies to be repaid - horrendous stuff-what a bunch of profiteering cowboys. I doubt they'd find a
ribble bike through their suppliers of
Evans/Cyclesurgery/etc etc but it's absolutely atrocious -I'm trying to find an alternative to the hiked up price of the new Specialized Ruby Elite- gone up by £450 for no improvements.
So will be waiting for two weeks to get the claim verified then I'll get a ribble bike myself and they can pay for it. I HOPE!
Not staying with BC for sure - I should post this somewhere on the forums -just not sure where!
Kuota M's GF has experience of cycleguard and sounds like she had trouble too - PM him for details.
I will get my insurance from somewhere else next time.
