This is something that occurred to me today. I have tried to do a google search but ended up with motorbike info...

Are there any companies that offer bike insurance (or given my bike is only worth about £250 is it not really worth it). From what I can understand from the policy document it is not covered under my house insurance

Just phone your house contents insurance company and check, they may ask for an additional premium but should offer cover.

What is said above - if you've house contents insurance, check the amount and extent of cover for your bike. If the bike is covered check as to the locking requirements to ensure you have cover if your bike is nicked. Example - the insurance may specify a particular type of lock and *how* the bike is to be locked (say to an immoveable object) for the insurance to cover it in case of theft.
