Hey folks

Just a quick question to anyone who has been hit by a car and the process of the claim. I got rear ended at the start of the year, and went through the CTC. I have to say the lawers they have but on the case are useless and make the whole process a nightmare. But anyways they are now wanting 6 months worth of payslips for the insurance company of the driver... EH? why would they wan't these? Anyway I have told them to jog on... but is this a normal request?

Maybe to see if you had any loss of earnings which you claimed for?

No loss of earnings at all. I was only off for 3 days. But even if it was that, then I'd have thought that months payslip and the letter they get form the department of working Pensions would tell them.

Perhaps to prove that your income is stable every month (is it?) and that the month you are claiming for wasn't anomolously high due to loads of overtime or something?

Well they know that I am not claiming for loss of earnings, as I didn't have any!

This is odd, as you aren't claiming loss of earnings. I was off 5 weeks with my operation (linked in with claim) and I'm not claiming loss - my employer has stood the cost - maybe they should claim too.

I assume it's to draw the process out even longer and make you give up and take anything they offer! The CTC lawyer said she didn't know if it was normal, le sigh!
