I banged my knee at work a couple of weeks ago, it hurt, like any knock would and a lump formed for a few days. I cycled home that night but since it was still sore the next day I thought it best to recover.

I have not been on my bike since, my knee is still sore!

Ouch...Bone bruising potentially - can take a year or more to heal...3-6 months is normal

My leg is still bruised and greenish after 7 months, I'm not sure the discolouration will ever go away, skin still numb too

What? The bone bruising. I assume you are applying ice

My leg is the result of a haematoma the size of a grapefruit...moral of that story is don't get knocked off your bike and land on the frame!

No, I haven't applied anything. But from my Google search it seems that I can cycle and that it might actually help promote healing. Not sure about that. Might give it a go sometime at the weekend.

Ice it in the meantime, bag of petit pois I. A tea towel, 15 mins max every couple of hours (also allows the peas time to re freeze) mark the bag as do not eat!

Not sure you can promote healing of a bone bruise, but you can try! Presumably this is the knee cap?

My knees are constantly sore, I'd never get on a bike again if I waited for them to heal for good

We had a similar bag of peas which had been in the freezer for 8 years when Master A_T lived at home.... he took it with him!
