You'd probably get away with it, but when you buy a replacement, go for the correct size.

You'll get away with it, I p***tured once on a club run when I had 28c tyres my spare tube also failed 
so I borrowed somebody else's 18-23c and never had a problem with it. It only done around 20miles however and I replaced it when I got home.
