Ok so I have gotten well and truly hooked backinto ccling these last 6 months but with 3 'incidents' involving inner tubes going down for various reasons I am now left with the need to buy a few more.

Is there really much difference or are the standard Conti's from halfords ok?

I agree, unless you are unfortunate enough to have a bough inner-tubes with dodgy valves or construction then it is down to the tyres as to whether or not they will give up the ghost or not. I quite often buy the £1.99 ones from Asda or Tesco's - Just don't use then on a petrol station air line!!!

Thanks thats what i figured, 2 incidents were actually not related to tyres problems (snapped valve and scabby bit on spare inner tube - both spesh tubes) third was glass!

You can just be unlucky sometimes - newish tubes, well pumped up tyres and still get consecutive days of punctures.

That said, I gave up on Conti Gators because I felt half a dozen flats in a year was too many.
