Inner tube

Following on from some of the questions below, what size inner tube do I need to buy?

On a Trek 7.3 - the tyre size is 700 32c?

I am presuming it is a 700 28c that I need to buy bit thought that I had better check.

Also, is there much difference between the manufacturers?

Tubes usually cover a range of cross sections due to their ability to expand to fit which is why you'll read figures like [ 700c x 23/28 ] or [ 26'' x 1.5/1.9 ] on the box. A 28mm tube will work perfectly well in your 32mm tyre.

Internet? Support your local bike shop, you might need them one day.

Thanks - and I do support my LBS - I just bought my bike from them. It's just that they are 9 miles away and I work for a living, so not practical to get there easily.

Fairy nuff. Probably worth spending a bit extra and buying a quality branded tube from the likes of Conti, Vredestein, Schwalbe, Specialized, Bontrager, Maxxis etc rather than some cheapo crap.

Dales Cycles are currently selling a bundle of 4 Specialized tubes for £9, with free postage. Cheaper for me to buy them online and get them posted than pop along to their shop....
