Afternoon everyone,

I am new to cycling (not to say cycling per say but actually getting 'serious' with my bicycle in terms of my mode of transport) and I wish to be able to carry stuff to and from my place of work.

I've read about bike racks but unsure if they will fit and was looking for some advice.

What are my options for increasing storage capacity of my bicycle? I've attached some pictures below which might help as I am a little confused.

I appreciate all your advice

p.s I have tried uploading photos on here but with no luck so I have put them on facebook for those to see(?)

How much stuff do you need to be able to carry? I just use a rucksack and I know the arguments against (mainly a bit of a sweaty back in the summer), but its easy.

You've definitely got the top fittings for a rack. can't see anything clearly at the bottom but if you have them at the top then it's likely one of those holes at the bottom is for a rack fitting.

Two ways to go. Beam rack or a full on proper rack if you need tp carry heavier loads. If the latter, it very much depends on the bike. I've several mtn bikes in our fleet and all of them require either a different rack or the rack fitted in a particular way. It may or may not need to be disc specific depending on where the mount is at the dropouts, it can be a pain to sort and is sometimes worht taking to the LBS if you're not confident but you will almost certainly get one on.

Some frames have rack points on the inside of the seat stays, hard to tell from the picture if you ones by the gears as normal or those.Another option is a seat post rack

I wish to use it for various purposes including carrying camping gear, food shopping/carrying produce from the allotment, general commuting etc.
