I suffered a blow-out on Saturday morning, tearing quarter inch gash in a new tyre. I made it home with about 60psi.

So, this morning I pumped it up to 120psi to see what would happen, and, not surprisingly, it tore a sizeable hole in the inner tube. Cue Lezyne glueless patch and tyre boot. The tyre will have to be replaced, but for those of us brought up with glue and rubber patches, the modern glueless patches, which take all of three seconds to apply, are a wonder. Lezyne's are particularly easy to peel and apply, which is handy if you're standing in the rain and the dark or you've got a puncture in a Brompton rear.

Goodbye glue!

These things have been in the back of my head as a 'must get some and try them soon', to do. Your post has pushed me over the edge and I shall go now and purchase several of their nice kits to stick in the various tool bags and replace the traditional kits with the probably dried out rubber solution.

I have to say that on occasion the glueless patches do fail. I admit this is a rare occurrence but I like the safety blanket that a tube of vulcanising rubber solution provides me

Funny thing is that I found that it seems to be the rain that makes them fall off.I'm not sure if they are more permanent in the dry.

I only tried (Park) glueless patches just the once, on a mountain bike ride. I got a puncture about 2 miles from home and it was raining heavily. After 20 minutes trying to get a patch to stick, I gave up and walked home!

Nowadays, I carry a conventional puncture kit and 2 or 3 spare tubes. The puncture kit is for emergency use only; normally I just swap tubes.

Tube repairs are done back at home in the dry. I suppose I could give the glueless patches another go but TBH I don't find using glue and patches a problem.

Here for rides.
never had a Park patch not stick, even in the rain. but then you have to stick them on the tube inside your shirt.

Always carry a pack of Park patches. Haven't had to use them yet though, I always carry a spare tube.

Glad I now know to apply them inside of my shirt, ooh that sounds wrong!

Only ever used the Park ones and only ever had one fail - I believe due only to my lack of experience and not properly preparing (roughing) the application area
