Time was when men and lasses come to that, wouldn't been seen out sans headwear. Then it became unfashionable, but now the trend of men in headwear is back in fashion.
However, the default preference appears to be either baseball caps or 'benny' / 'tubigrip' / beanie hats.
So are men - clinging avidly to current fashion / are they afraid to be different / want to be 'American' or just can't be bothered to think outside the current fashion box - ?
Observations from our fashion gurus please - ! ^_^

I have a couple of Tilleys, a Fedora, a Bowler, beanies, my Army beret, straw Panama type things and a flat cap. I have 2 baseball hats but never wear them, I really don't like baseball caps.

I wear a beanie in winter, a Stihl trade cap (not quite a baseball cap) in spring and autumn and a Tilly lookalike (£2 from a charity shop) in summer. Was never one for hats but the hair disappeared and a brush with skin cancer made wearing a hat the norm. The wife and I often use public transport with our bus passes and OAPs wearing hats is almost part of the uniform 😉

Since I had the top of my left ear removed, (pre cancerous), I’ve amassed a few to keep whats left in the shade In the summer and the thinning thatch warm in winter

Stingy brim trilby, pork pie, Baker boys and a couple of baseball caps.

Used to have an Akubra, (Aussie cowboy hat), but it was pinched a few years ago.

I might have to have my nose removed - LOL - and will never know why I find that remotely funny

I wear fedoras all the time! I have two Panama hats, which I class as summer fedoras. I must have about 15 fedoras, mostly wool felt, but three are rabbit fur bought before I became all 'save the animals', but still aware of animal cruelty. I used to wear baseball caps in my younger days, then I moved onto flat caps, eventually moving onto fedora hats. I still wear the occasional flat cap, mostly when it's too windy outside for a wide brimmed hat.

It was a lentigo maligna. I went to have earwax removed and the audiologist advised there was sun damage on the rear of my ear, (rhymes!). I couldn’t see it. I had a mole and a patch of sun damage biopsied, mole was OK, but still removed, sun damage not so. 3 operations later, all sorted.
NHS were FANTASTIC.

Hope all goes well with you.

I went to the Doctors last year over some skin marks (turned out to be age spots, nothing significant) and she praised my baseball cap wearing tendencies.

I have summer and winter baseball caps which I switch between when the clocks change. A camo one for the summer, and my old Blackwater company cap from when I worked over there for 6 months is my winter cap.
