yay, some good weather to go riding in.

i posted a month or so ago about my problems getting up hills and getting demotivated, ive been putting the miles in recently, around 20mile rides a few times a week, also been tuning my bike. went out today after work and i was able o do a quick 12.5 mile ride, non stop in an hour and up the very hill a few weeks ago i found impossible (part of it is a 10% gradient) and was finding it fun at the same time. found a lot of helpfull posts on here to keep me going

<edit> also did some intervals and got up to 20mph on the flat which i've not done before

Good stuff Stephen. No doubt cycling is hard work at first and goddamn it a lot of people on here have gone through what you have been through. But as you have found out. Keeping the cycling going, it soon get's easier and your mileage and average speed soon starts creeping up.

Well done, just keep at it and you will be surprised at what you can achieve.

Agree with all posts.
The fitter you get the more you'll enjoy it, the more you enjoy it the fitter you get!
Keep it up.

Thanks for the (unintended) words of encouragement! I've been sweating and panting at this malarkey for a month now, although bad weather has limited my miles, and I am still struggling to better 10 miles with a stop or two to catch my breath.

It's good to have a positive example!

As the great Greg LeMonde said: it doesn't get easier, you just get faster.

Thanks!
