Well, I looked at the weather report for today and wasn't exactly motivated to get on the bike.

Wind gusting to 30+mph and rain.

But I have 3/4 tights, Merino baselayer and some overshoes to check out, so I have decided I will go out for a quick run of about 13 miles or so. Tights seem very comfortable, overshoes are a pain to get on but managed it in the end..... I now just have to wait for Mrs M to get home and I can go out.

Hmmmmm, managed 8 miles and decided to turn back. I managed the small hill that has been killing me for ages.

So, in one way I feel I have let myself down by not doing more miles, but happy I got up that hill (Yeah, I know it's a pimple to most of you on here.)

You went out and you achieved something. I've stayed in, second day in a row of continuous rain and cold wind. Didn't get far yesterday, but got 85 miles in over the previous two days when it was just cold (and a bit icy).

So how did that baselayer work out?

You went - that's the thing.

It was miserable over here, too. Occasional flurries of sleet but a lot warmer than the last couple of days, so I was glad to get the last 46 miles of this year's 3650 out of the way. Every year now I'm a bit slower and it's harder work, so I just concentrate on turning the pedals.

Well done!

For the last two weeks I haven't managed anything other than short rides into town because of the snow, ice, wind, and cold.

Hello Gaz glad i am not the only nutter out on the bike this weather.:-)

I find it difficult to have just the right amount of clothes on.Usually start off cold then overheat so stop to shove some clothes into the panniers then meet a cold headwind and stop to put layers back on etc etc.

Well done Gaz, I told you it would be long before you'd be able to top the molehill

Did you give up the tabs yet?

I went out for a ride on Tuesday in the morning. Rode several miles Northward into the wind until frozen toes forced me to turn back. So to add to the distance I put in a little detour. Got a good tail wind for a little bit, set on the turn for home and the wind had changed direction so I had to cycle into the wing agian. And then it started with the freezing rain. BRRRR

Same here, starting to get very pi**ed off. Unfortunately no turbo for me, but may buy one if this keeps up.
Managed two rides to work but that was MTB and had to stick to roads, still very dicey:sad:;)
