Sky1 is back. Unfortunately since the merger they've messed with the packages so M is only a clone of freeview, something I strongly disagree with. You're best off venting your rage on retentions, they may even move you up a package.

You have to talk to retentions. Normal CS reps cannot offer you deals, you have to be leaving and really mean it. Sometimes they let people go anyway. Sometimes people get great deals - there are examples of people going from a few one off products and paying only a few quid more due to being given a high bundle plus a discount. Some people have even been offered second v+s and lifetime offers. The biggest load of retention deals ever dished out was last year when the channels left.

For your general point about a v+, whatever you do you're best off doing it before the end of November. That's when the current offer of a v+ for £75 one off runs out. I can tell you it is most defintely physically possible to get one for less than this but far from everybody does. If you're on XL there's no rental.
