.....fallen off that is  Had to nip over to Edinburgh this morning and as I coming back through South Queensferry SMIDSY hit. I came through this rbt and there was a queue (5 cars or more) in the right turn approach from the supermarket (Ferrygait), they were pushing out as drivers tend to do in a traffic jam, but then somebody decided to undertake the queue in the left lane and come flying out into the rbt. My visibility is quite good as I'm in an elevated position and I saw him in the nick of time and rather than over the bonnet head first action, I opted for a skid on the greasy surface so if there was any contact it'd be my rear right pannier or rear wheel. Nearly everybody stopped to their credit to ask if I was OK one woman even hung about and seemed very concerned despite my reassurance. I thought SMIDSY had b'ggered off but to his credit he pulled in at the next layby and came back on foot. He admitted that it was all his fault and offered me a lift, a typical SMIDSY. We could have done without the Fudmobile/s. I don't know if it was the same car cruising (if that all they have to look forward to I feel sorry for them) but a car past a few times with neds (chavs) hanging out the window shouting haa, haa (or something). Anyway SMIDSY just shouted at the F@nnies to shut up, at least he done something right

Just peeled of my tights my thigh although it feels ok is slightly red, the graze on my elbow is that small you can barely see it and I've twisted my wrist slightly. The bike seems to be OK too, although I've not looked at it in detail yet, there's a tinny bit of scratching, the light brackets are twisted and the bell stump (the actual bell snapped ages ago) snapped off the Ortlieb pannier seemed to take the brunt of it but looks good too.

I was always told the more you fall, the better you get. (You learn from mistakes) soon you'll be the best ever cyclist. going by that, I should be awesome too.

Glad you're not too badly hurt.
