I'm allergic to one of my colleagues.

After she comes near me - to my desk to make small talk, sitting next to me in a meeting or standing next to me in the kitchen as I make another coffee - I get a sniffy nose, itchy eyes and a sore adam's apple all day.

It's because she owns dogs who obviously run her household. Comes in everyday in a fleece covered in dogs' hair.

It's either that or the heavy perfume used to mask the smell of the dogs!

Ooooh, she likes you.

Mostly likely the perfume. I have had a bad alergic reaction to someone's aftershave, and I know that there is a debate in the US about whether airline passengers should be banned from wearing strong perfume for the same reason.
