Would I be able to get away with running narrow cyclo-x tyres on this frame? Specifically Mitch' Mud2 - 700x30 ?
(I will probably change the forks).

I am right in thinking the rear frame spacing, either 120 or 135 makes no difference to the clearance?

To answer my own question

Designed for Fixed Wheel or Single Speed use on or off road
Our own DN6 steel tubeset with compact road geometry for a stiff yet comfortable ride.
Rack and guard mounts, with up to 32mm wide 700c tyre clearance.
White frameset features rear brake cable hanger for those that run canti brakes.
1 1/8th" headtube, 27.2 seatpost, 120mm rear spacing

This is for the 'new' white frames. I do hope the older frames are the same!

fyi, they did make version of the pomp with a 135mm OLD. i can't see how it would change the clearance, but that's just supposition on my part.

I've got a three year old kaffenback (pomp with derailleur hanger) and i've enjoyed many a dry CX race on it, and even a few muddy ones, on 35's.

Thats just the answer I was after. Although the clearance might be a bit too tight for some of the muddy cx races it will cope with CX tyres and the odd bit of mud. - Great stuff.

Last year I had to give up on two cx races using the MTB when the wheels got so clogged up they refused to turn. I'm going to carefully pick my races this year (if I do any!).

It's usually the drier/stickier mud that causes the problems- I'm usually praying for heavy rain on a saturday night in january so that the mud will be runny come sunday morning!
