Hi was riding a recumbent bike on cycle path which pedestrian walk way is along side it, I slowed down as a pedestrian was on the cycle side walking his dog which was not on a lead,so made an abrupt stop to avoid the dog !! this gentleman{me being polite} then shouts out in an angry tone " PEOPLE LIKE YOU SHOULD BE SUPERVISED AND NOT RIDE ON YOUR OWN!" so I asked him what are you on about! , He says " INVALIDS LIKE YOU!" Obviously he thought a recumbent bike was for invalids[ CHEEKY BUGGAR} which is fine as I am classed as one due to a spinall injury but it did make me angry as he thought he could say what he wanted,. Anycase think he is a d,,,ckh.....d and did call him that just couldnt help it. PS WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE???? Look forward to your views

What a prat, even if you were 100 % ignorant and genuinely thought that, hopefully most folk wouldn't say anything.

Trouble is you always think of the best, most cutting, put down retorts when you are two hundred yards further on and it is pointless going back.

This sort of rings a bell to an incident with me many years ago when I was young and carefree and beer flowed freely, nothing much has changed through the years in reality.

I had a friend who had lost an arm in a motor cycle accident and he always did well pulling the birds, so one night me and another friend decided that we would hide our right arm up the back of our jackets and go for a pub crawl round town. And by hell did we pull some birds that night, we were a star attraction, we even convinced them that we were both on the same bike when we lost our right arms as we slid down the road and they even took more pity on us.

Anyway we got back to our local, rest of our friends knew what we was doing and humouring us, but one lad we had never seen before started picking on me in an aggressive manner, presumably to impress his girl friend, so I took him outside to see how hard he was. What a shock he got when suddenly a right hand appeared from no where and flattened him. We left him in the car park battered and bruised with his girl friend giving him a good screaming at. Never did see him again.

But it just goes to show how some people will pick on people with disabilities.

I feel this post asks more questions than it answers, so to speak.
