A COOL £5,000.00

Ten speed Japanese rubbish on a five grand bike? They're having a laugh.

Not madly keen on Trek. So, no I would not spend £5k on that bike. I would look for something a little more out of the ordinary.

God how I hate this new fangled oversized bar/stem sh!t! Itsofugly!

Indeed. There are lots of developments that seem to have no point other than to make older hardware look older. I wasn't aware that there was a problem with the thinner stems until these thicker ones arrived. My handle bar stem is thicker than the thickest tubing on my frame!

Yet for some reason rims are getting so narrow that you can't get tyres onto them and they buckle under the pressure of a harsh stare. My guess is that as trends bounce up and down in ten years time bikes will look like they did ten years ago.

I was at the point of trying to look for an argument to buy this bike, but could not find any...;)

if i was gonna spend 5 grand on a bike i'd have a Pinarello Prince in the colours i want.

Edit: actually, i'd have a Dogma, i had a magnesium frame once before, just a halfords carrera, the frame was based on a TdF professional frame, but i still reckon it was a wicked ride. i love my Scott carbon jobby but i did really like the magnesium frame. i can't say why, it was just a really comfortable ride and it felt faster than my Scott. I reckon the Pinarello Dogma would be the Dogs Bollox (no pun intended)

If I had the financial brain to have that amount of money put aside for a leisure item that will eventually cost twice as much in maintenance, than I would have understood the law of diminishing returns, and probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place.

You overestimate the link between wealth and intelligence. Not watched the news at all lately?

You underestimate the link between stealth and benevolence. Piggy boy.
