... I'll have clearance for 32mm studded tyres, right?

As a test my 37mm hybrid tyres seemed to sit fine on the rims of my commuter bike that usually takes 25s.

Studs stick out diagonally, but just as a sanity check - I will be ok with 32mm studded tyres, won't I?

Be careful. Have you ever seen a seat tube or chainstay that's been contacted by a wet muddy tyre, even for a few minutes? The fast-moving gritty tyre does a surprising amount of damage. Gawd knows what studs would do.

Turn it into a cool recess curved track style seat tube, right?

just check carefully there's no real way of knowing in advance as different makes have different tyre profiles and inflation pressures impact this as well.

My carbon Roubaix came with Roubaix tyres, which have a deep profile for comfort. The clearance between tyre and rear brake bridge is pretty small and curiously, the underneath of the bridge is worn away in exactly the way you would expect if the tyre was rubbing it - paint removed and bare resin visible. I know that on bumpy roads you can sometimes feel the rear end of the bike bounce slightly as the seat stays flex so I believe it's possible that the tyres may have contacted the underneath of the brake bridge on a few occasions.

I didn't know you could by 32mm studded tyres, I thought the smallest was 37mm.
You could always check Sheldon's table on what tyre width suits what rim width.

Currently looking at importing some Nokian A10s which come in 32mm.

Schwalbe Marathon Winters are available in 35mm, but I fear that will be pushing it. And they are really rather expensive.
