idiot passengers

i have been getting back on the bike slowly again after winter and flare-up of medical condition and been out a total of 3 times this week.

5 miles on monday
6.99 miles on wednesday
7.09 miles tonight and each time it has been a nice ride.

however tonight a car beeped there horn behind me for no reason at all and when they overtook me the passenger shooted at the top of his voice and it made me jump and wobble slightly. i didn't hear exactly what he said.

apart from this and couple of close passes mainly from 4x4 and taxi drivers it has been a good getting back on the bike.

Unfortunately there will always be muppets like that out there.

In my view the joy I get from cycling far outweighs the odd adverse comment here and there.

Just think to yourself "they're just jealous because they're stuck in a car" and keep pedalling

Sadly people will always "try it on" when they think they are safe from retribution. This isn't confined to motorists of course, the rioters/looters of a few months ago were a classic example [a lot of 'em forgot about the CCTV though !]
You can do nothing for stupid people so just take a deep breath and enjoy your ride.

I had it last week while nearly being squeezed into a row of parked cars.

Ignore the bellends, keep riding and carry on. It's when they get out and start on you that you have to worry

I had that this week.......some young lads out of the back window while their clueless parent (I assume) was driving..........wasn't sure which of them had the smallest brain.
It does give you a shock as its so unexpected and for a nervouse person it could cause a serious accident.

Sometimes it happens quickly followed by gridlock/red traffic light. You see their true colours then, usually involves winding the windows up and looking straight ahead or at their phones.

Average commute type of journey then your skin will get thicker - as do car drivers and passengers.
